SK ART
  • Today we began tracing, drawing, and colouring our Owls.
GR. 8 DESIGN
  • Students were handed back their Design Briefs with edits from the teacher. As a class we discussed what to include and what not to include to fulfil expectations for the upcoming unit 1 summative. Examples:
    • No contractions - I do not (yes), I don't (no)
    • Formal language - do not write like you speak
    • Heading must be in BOLD
    • Must have a bibliography (cited in MLA format)
  • Students were also given an example design brief of a current student to reference while using the rest of class time to make final edits.
    • HOMEWORK: Final design brief edits made and printed for Thursday
GR. 7 DESIGN
  • Students were asked to choose a logo and answer the following question after going through an example as a class with the teacher:
    • Describe the main features of this logo re-design that inspire a solution to the problem.
  • With teacher guidance students analyzed another logo and generated a list of specifications to improve the design.
  • Students used the rest of class time to re-design the logo themselves using the checklist created as a class.
    • Students labelled their re-designs to outline their choices and why they made certain design decisions.
    • HOMEWORK: Logo Re-Designs if not completed in class with descriptions are due Thursday.

ALC2O
  • Today was our last day going through the Elements and Principles of Art & Design. We analyzed, discussed, and applied our new knowledge of Space (Positive & Negative).
