Today we handed in our Marketing Posters. We were also given and went through our Unit 1 Summative Assignment. This assignment is due Thursday October 8th.

Today we handed in our Technological Timelines. We were also given and went through our Unit 1 Summative Assignment. This assignment is due Thursday October 8th.
Grade 9 & 10 Art
We took another shot at drawing self-portraits with a more detailed eye. These portraits are due by the end of class Monday October 5th.

- Hello! My name is Mrs. Kerr and I am the head of Art & Design at St. Jude's Academy. I hold an Honours Bachelor Degree in English and Visual Arts from the University of Windsor and a Bachelor of Education from Queen's University. My interests include: travel, 19th century literature, rugby, ice hockey, bluegrass music, mixed media art & art history.

WE DAY!
Students attending "We Day" this Thursday are allowed to wear their shirts from last year (Yay!)

FOOD DRIVE!
Students are asked to bring in anything that they wish to donate to their Classroom Teacher (PYP) or Homeroom Teacher (MYP)
The Needs List for this year includes the following:
- Nut free snacks
- Granola bars
- Juice cans or large tetra Packs (family size)
- Juice boxes
- Oatmeal – bulk and instant
- Canned Meats – Turkey, Chicken, Ham, Salmon, Tuna
- Canned tomato
- Canned fruit
- Kids’ pasta in a can
- Baking items – cake, cookie or muffin mixes
- Crackers – soda and boxed
- Size, 4, 5 and 6 Diapers and boys’ Pull Ups

Junior Kindergarten
Today we were introduced to our New Art Room! We were very well-behaved and had the chance to colour Thanksgiving Turkeys and practice our "gobble gobble" in class.
Grade 3 & 4
Students were also introduced to the new room and we practiced taking our seats quietly and our listening skills. We went through instructions to start our Fairy Tale Landscapes next class. Students are asked to bring in any photos that they wish to use as drawing references next day.
Grade 2
Today we were introduced to Warm and Cool colours and used these elements to start creating our fall masterpieces.
Today we drew and labelled the members of our families!

Grade 5 & 6 Art

Today we were handed back work from the first week of school. We did not participate in any arts activities as we were working on our listening skills in class.
Grade 7 & 8 Art
Today we handed in our Jill Bliss artwork and began working on our Found Poetry project. Students who did not bring in a newspaper today are asked to bring one in for class on Wednesday.

We went on a yoga adventure with Squish the Fish on our last day of yoga.
Grade 7 & 8 Art
Students continued working on their Jill Bliss project. Due on Monday!
Grade 7 Technology
We continued working on our marketing posters. All students should, at least, start their final copies on Monday.

Students continued working on their Technological Timeline project. The research phase should be nearly completed and students should start assembling their timeline (digitally) by Monday.
Grade 9 & 10 Technology

Today we participated in "Cosmic Kids Yoga" where we learned all about Norris the Baby Seahorse.
Grade 3 & 4
Today we did an introductory lesson on various yoga practices and positions.
Grade 1 & 2
We participated in a "Cosmic Kids Yoga" lesson where we went on an adventure to Egypt to meet Alan the Camel and learned that we should not lie and not to take things that do not belong to us.
Technology (Grade 7)
Students continued working on their Marketing Poster project which was given to them last day.

Students were given a handout. They are to use to research and create a digital timeline of the top 10 technological advancements from throughout history.
