JK & SK ART

Today we worked on our reading and listening skills by following a Spring colour-by-number colouring page.

This weeks theme is TROLLS! The first two days of the week students practiced their use of scissor skills by following dotted lines (straight, curved, zig-zag etc.) to give trolls new haircuts. The second two days of the week students were given troll face templates to then create crazy hair drawings.

Students were introduced to Symmetry. The first two days focused on tracing and discussion what symmetry is. The next two days students applied their new skills to create Symmetry Bugs.

Students participated in various arts activities dependent on the theme of the day during Spirit Week!

Students used their fingers and Q-tips to paint The Cat in the Hat in the style of Pointillism.

Students learned how to draw a Caterpillar based on our Cosmic Yoga Adventure with The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Today we read the story The Cat in the Hat to finish off our two weeks of Dr. Seuss!!
Reading through the story students were asked various questions to prepare them for our painting activity next week.
Students used remaining class time to sculpt or draw.

Today we read the story Hop on Pop. We discussed various rhyming words and students completed a colouring activity.

This week we are focusing on the theme of Valentine's Day, what is means to love, how we can show our love for others etc.

SK ART

Students experienced their first "Free-Draw Friday" in the art room. Today's theme: Dr. Seuss Characters. Students were given the opportunity to draw or sculpt their own Dr. Seuss characters.
