IMPORTANT!! Tomorrow Halloween/Spirit Day
Tomorrow is Halloween/Spirit Day!!
Students are asked not to wear masks, scary costumes, or bring in weapons. Please wear a child-friendly costume to school.
Students are also welcome to bring in treats but they MUST be PEANUT FREE!!

Today we sat in silence and answered reflection questions about listening in the art room.
Grade 2
Ms. Dacosta's class decorated Halloween Masks and Ms. Jaskolka's class used step-by-step Halloween drawing sheets to draw their own creatures and colour them in.
Grade 1 & 1/2
Students learned how to draw various Halloween Creatures.
Grade 7 & 8 Technology
Today was the last class to finish working on their Halloween Soundtracks which will be presented in class tomorrow.

Today we discussed the movie Back to the Future and the predictions made in the movie about technology on October 21st, 2015. Students compared the thoughts and ideas of the movie to the technologies that we do and do not have in 2015.

As our unit on Ancient Civilizations began today we learned how to create our names and present them in hieroglyph form through a Cartouche.

Today we handed in our portfolio and had a short conference with Mrs. Kerr about our work.

I have extended the deadline for the Mixed Media Self Portrait Unit #1 Project until Wednesday, October 21st. Students had today's class to complete their work or work on their written assignment due for technology this Friday October 23rd.

Today students submitted their Keyhole Landscapes! Each student chose a particular country to create their landscape about and explained on the back of their work why they chose said country. Those who are not finished are asked to work on their project from home and submit them by the end of next week. Next week we will start our Egyptian Art unit of study.

We practiced our symmetry skills by drawing the other half of our owl pages! Students who finished had the rest of class time to colour in their owls.
