GR. 8 HISTORY

We started our new unit of study Louis Riel & the Red River Settlement today. Students were given half of class time to research the beginning of the Red River Settlement. The other half of class time we discussed the definition of a "colony" and what we would need for survival when settling in a new place.

Students were put into groups and given the scenario that they would be settling on an island, planet, or new country. They were asked to draw a map including a) physical features and b) resources needed for their immediate survival.

*VIDEOS, SCRIPTS, RUBRICS, & STORYBOARD ARE DUE ON MY DESK TOMORROW MORNING BEFORE THE START OF SCHOOL!*
