It's Friday!!
Grade 5 & 6
Today we finished up our identity book covers and posted them on the wall in the art room. Don't they look great?!
*Reminder that Monday we will be outside for Environmental Art!! Please bring proper attire for any weather.
Senior Kindergarten
Today we were a rambunctious group! We drew our very own self-portraits.
Grade 7 Art
Today we continued our talk on the theme of personal identity. Students were introduced to the idea of contour and continuous line and worked together on a poster with the theme of "group" identity.
Homework: students are asked to draw three objects that they can not live without using contour and continuous line. They are also asked to research a well-known/famous journal and answer the following questions:
a) who wrote it?
b) why did they write it?
c) what does it include? (what's in it)
They are also asked to print out a photo of the journal/diary pages (2 or 3) to present next class.
Geography
Today students finished creating their "Maps of Canada" to study from for exams.
Homework: Read Chapters 3 & 4 - Answer Key Questions - Define Key Terms with Examples.
Technology
Grade 7: Students worked on their "Personal Logo" assignment.
Grade 8: Students worked on their "Simple Invention" project.
Grade 9&10: Students defined and researched technological advancements throughout history and explain their impact on society.
Homework: Independent research:
Consider - art, science, sport, media, medicine, math etc.
a) what is the advancement?
b) what does/did it do?
c) how does/did it impact society?
Consider - effects on health, travel, communication, living standards, education, job creation etc.
